ABOUT THE GOLDEN RETRIEVER, & A LITTLE ABOUT US!

Golden Retrievers are an extremely multi-talented breed that can be used in a wide range of activities such as: Gundog, guide dog for the blind, pets as therapy, obedience and/or show dogs.  Goldens are also used as helpers to handicapped people & as rescue dogs. Goldens were used in New York during the rescue & recovery operations at the World Trade Center after the tragic events on September 11, 2001. Their desire to please us is legendary. They are noted for their gentle, loving disposition and make wonderful family pets. The Golden Retriever is a medium to large dog, males and females are equally intelligent and affectionate and easy to house train. Goldens are very sociable dogs and need companionship; they are not happy left alone in the backyard for too long.

WHYLAWAY GOLDEN RETRIEVERS are bred for temperament, conformation lines, & sound health. Our puppies make excellent family pets as they are wonderful around children. They are also excellent show stock, one of our pups won the Royal Melbourne Show last year (2003) & another in on her way to becoming Australian Grand Champion! Still another readies herself for her show career in Tasmania, where all are sure she will be the bell of the ball!

WHYLAWAY GOLDEN dams & sires are raised as treasured family members & are from championship lines.  All dogs & bitches are hip & elbow x-rayed for dysplasia, & vet checked for eyes & heart.  Give your new WHYLAWAY GOLDEN puppy lots of love, praise, attention & good care & you will have a friend that will never let you down.
